Join The Team
PWP is the only IL Special Olympics Equestrian Team in Region B! Ages 8+ can join the team if they are enrolled in regular lessons. Riders will practice all of the skills necessary during lessons to then compete in local horse shows and qualify for Fall Finals! PWP fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where riders of all levels can grow their skills and experience the joy of competition.
Qualifying For Finals
PWP travels to On Course Riding Academy to participate in local qualifying Horse Shows. At each Horse Show, riders will earn points that will then allow PWP to compete at Finals. The excitement of horse showing is unmatched, as it skill, precision, and the thrill of competition, making every event a fun and rewarding experience for both riders and spectators alike.
Annual Fall Finals
Annual Fall Finals takes place in mid-October. Riders must qualify through previous Horse Show participation. Logistics are organized by PWP, ensuring smooth operations throughout the event. In addition to the competition, there is a team dinner where riders, coaches, and support staff come together to celebrate their hard work and foster camaraderie.
